The Brooklynite Vol 18 No 2 April 1928
Official Publication of the Blue Pencil Club
This is a very rare vintage issue of "The Brooklynite" from 1928. The Brooklynite, published in Plainfield, New Jersey was an amateur press publication edited by Hazel Pratt Adams (1888-1927), a member of the Blue Pencil Club of Brooklyn, and distributed through the United Amateur Press Association. The Blue Pencil Club was named after the traditional blue pencil editors of the time would use to mark edits and annotations before being sending works out for publication. H.P. Lovecraft, along with his wife Sonia, would drop in occasionally. H.P. Lovecraft joined The Blue Pencil Club in 1924, and wrote his essay “Cats and Dogs” for them in 1926.
These are in remarkably good condition, with almost no yellowing, and no rips, tears, creases or bends. See photos.
