Academy Models Boeing B-29 Superfortress "Enola Gay" 1/72 Model Kit 12528

The United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay was made famous on 6 August 1945, when it became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in warfare. The bomb, code-named "Little Boy, was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later on August 9th, Bockscar dropped "Fat Man" on Nakasaki, Japan. Less than a week later, the surrender of Imperial Japan was announced by Japanese Emperor Hirohito on August 15 and formally signed on September 2, 1945, bringing an end to World War II.

The kit Features fully engraved panel lines & rivet detail, highly detailed cockpit interior & bomb bay, "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" bombs included, with a choice of two markings: "Enola Gay" or "Bockscar", and optional position landing gear & bomb bay door. This is a model kit that is supplied unpainted and requires assembly.
